Opposites may attract but likesies last

The Three Best Types of Marriages Why does one marriage last 50 years, while another dissolves in just five years? It's not about happiness. It's about conflict resolution. John M. Gottman of the Relationship Research Institute and the University of Washington conducted a 20-year study with more than 600 married couples and carefully plotted how husbands and wives interacted with each other, reports The Associated Press. Based on these observations, he has identified the three most stable types of marriages--the kind that are likely to see their golden anniversaries. Gottman actually created a mathematical formula that can predict how well a marriage will endure.
The three types of stable and enduring marriages:

Type No. 1: The Avoiders
A husband and wife in this type of marriage routinely avoid conflict. Gottman told AP that when a difference of opinion arises, "they will never argue. They will listen to the other, but will not try to persuade." He calls them the avoiders. While this couple may be unemotional and distant, their union endures through the years.

Type No. 2: The Bickersons
The husband and wife have a volatile relationship, much like two lawyers arguing in a courtroom. "They can argue at the drop of a hat," Gottman told AP. But even with frequent and passionate arguments, such marriages do tend to last through the years.

Type No. 3: The Validating Couple
A husband and wife listen to each other, respect the other's opinion, and only occasionally argue. "They pick the issues they fight about," he explained to AP. As long as both people in a marriage have the same type of personality, that is, they are both Avoiders or both Bickersons or both Validating, the marriage will last. Trouble occurs when there is a mix, such as one partner is an Avoider and one a Bickerson. "Couples like that are usually heading for a divorce," Gottman told AP.

Alright, I want everyone to leave laughter alone

Being able to see the humor in something is not an evil worthy of social punishment. In fact being able to laugh at ourselves is probably one of the most important aspects to mental and physical health a person may have.

I have made it my life to find the humor in life so that I could laugh. Guess what? inspite of a family history of heart disease I; at the age of 45, still do not require medical attention for my heart.

I know this for a fact because recently I did go to the emergency room for an episode concerning a pinched nerve in my neck and the dumb emergency room doctor checked me out for everyhing under the sun but my what I was complaining about. Talk about gettin on my nerves.

Here are the things that I know that I don't have. Aneurysm(that is no ballooned out blood vessels), high blood pressure
clogged arteries, liver . I did not have a stroke.
I was not on drugs(tox scan was clean). And those are the things that I can remember off the top of my head.

In my life I have only one constant. Laughter. Laughing at my self a lot.

Finally I figure if I make a joke at myself and another person doesn't laugh( I give the world permission to laugh at me when I make a joke about myself) I figure that they may have a problem. And you know what? I'm not gonna make their problem mine.

I have a story along this line.
I am a heating and air technician. I like my job and I'm pretty good at it. Well one day I just finished a major repair on a customers central A/C and was double checking my work in preparation for returning power to the circuit. When I was in the Airforce we had a little joke about starting up a unit. When we presumed that we were ready we would yell out Spark test! That was our signal for everyone to take their hands off the unit just in case something went wrong so they wouldn't get shocked or electrocuted. Well about the time I was ready to throw the breaker on when the customer came in to check on the progress-I said spark test, and flipped the breaker. FLASH! Big spark and the breaker tripped. Of course the homeowner had as shocked a look on his face as I did. I mumbled to my self that that is not what I was talking about when I said spark test. Just about then I looked at the customer and saw the look on his-face I laughed. The customer wasn't impressed. I laughed again because of what the guy might be thinking.. The customer got a strange kindof concerned look on his face. I laughed some more. The customer left me alone. I wonder why?
I quickly found the problem; a wire had slipped off it's terminal and grounded out against the case. No biggie. I replaced the terminal , restarted the unit and checked it while operating-job finished. The man paid his bill. But I got the distinct feeling that he thought I was nuts.
I got in my van and left laughing.
I'm still laughing about that one, and I don't mind telling anybody else this story either.

Laughter is good medicine. When we laugh we release enzymes into our blood stream that cause us to relax. Don't ask for the studies because I read this back in the 80's and that Readers Digest is long gone, but I believe it because that would explain the wilted mushy feeling we get when we laugh.
Also I seem to be clearer headed and feel kinda high. Oh those delicious hormones. If druggies only knew that I get for free what they pay dearly for.
So if people don't want to laugh ok I bet they lose 30 years off their lives. Not my problem........Theirs.

My wife is mad. She went to the car wash to vacuum her car and the vacuum cleaner took 3 dollars from her and didn't work.

I always wanted a heavy bag so I could go take my extremely aggressive feelings out on it. But I think she needs it more.
ok- now I'm mad. I just found out that the money she threw away at the car wash she stole from my change jar.

I would go buy a heavy bag but my wife keeps steeling my money.

Where are all the educated people

The Smartest People Live in Washington, D.C. may be the smartest city in the country. According to a report by the U.S. Bureau of the Census, fully 23.6 percent of the 25-and-over population of the District of Columbia has a graduate or professional degree, which includes master's, law, medical, and doctoral degrees. That's not only the highest of all cities, but also more than any state. Nationwide, 9.4 percent of the population has earned an advanced degree.

Flat Taxes

Tax Reform for the New Century
(First of a Series)
© January 9, 2004, Rod D. Martin

In the Washington Post, a recent headline blared, "Flat Tax Imposed On Iraq."

New taxes heartlessly heaped on the backs of hapless Iraqis? Well, not exactly.

You wouldn't guess from the headline, but on September 15, what U.S. administrator L. Paul Bremer did was cut Iraq's top tax rate from 45% to 15% for individuals and businesses.

So Iraq is now the latest member of the flat tax club. Hong Kong’s amazing success story is largely attributable to its flat tax, Ukraine has just followed suit, and in 2001, Russia replaced its maniacally Keynesian code with a 13% flat tax on individual income, easily the lowest rate in Europe.

Russia's experience has been astonishing, not to mention instructive. For years after the fall of Communism, Russia was a basket case, in large measure stifled by an impossibly complex tax system which punished investment and encouraged corruption. Today, Russia’s economy is growing faster than any in Europe, and its tax revenues have been skyrocketing. They doubled in the first year alone.

Oh Dear

Just how pathetically anxious are the denizens of "Old Europe" to kneel down before Islamofascists and imitate Monica Lewinsky? This story shows why the President of Arbusto has declared a true "War On Terra". (Reporters keep misunderstanding this, because they think he is just saying "Terror" with a Texas accent.)

Dear Ayn because of you I must once again succumb to the..........Spirit of laughter...harharharharharharhinhhinhhinh oh the tears.

Incoming California Governor Schwarzenegger has a great opportunity to terminate a true enemy of all Americans. Using the same state law that Nike was sued under for its allegedly misleading ads, he can sue the Democratic Party for its phony claim to stand for democracy. As they prove each day, with filibusters, quorum-breaking walkouts, and fights against recalls, the Democrats are really only committed to opposing the rights of political majorities. For the sake of truth in advertising, they must be required to change their name. Naturally, I have several helpful suggestions for a new label.

I should give reverance to this piece for such an optimal idea....................Nah HAHAHAHAHAHAHhohohohoho.

OPEC Is No Friend of Ours

by Jerry Taylor

Since then, most of the data on the matter have simply disappeared. As an alternative, economists Morry Adelman and Campbell Watkins tabulated the sales value of proved reserves in the United States, information that serves as a window on the value of oil reserves anywhere in which oil finders can go freely and invest. From 1982-2002, however, the price of existing reserves did not increase, demonstrating that the market does not believe oil in the ground is an appreciating asset

Let's be clear about what's at stake. If OPEC disappeared tomorrow, oil prices would drop to somewhere around $8 a barrel and gasoline prices would almost certainly be south of $1 a gallon. A price collapse of that magnitude would do more for consumer welfare and the overall health of the American economy than almost anything that's been put on the table by President Bush or his Democratic Party rivals. Accordingly, the OPEC cartel should be resisted, not embraced, and policy should aim at undermining it, not propping it up.

Chair-warmer on the hot seat
Ann Coulter

In contrast to Aldrich's book, which was vindicated with a whoop just a few years later when the Monica Lewinsky scandal broke, many of Clarke's allegations were disproved within days of the book's release. Clarke claims, for example, that in early 2001, when he told President Bush's National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice about al-Qaida, her "facial expression gave me the impression that she had never heard the term before." (If only she used botox like Sen. Kerry!) Sean Hannity has been playing a radio interview that Dr. Rice gave to David Newman on WJR in Detroit back in October 2000, in which she discusses al-Qaida in great detail.

More than 50 percent of male high school students told the Alan Guttmacher surveyers they had not engaged in sexual intercourse in 2001, up from 39 percent in less than 10 years. Even accounting for the fibs and stretchers people tell about sex, this is an astonishing number.

These are "aggressive" gun controllers? These are points one expects to hear them from the NRA. Even research funded by the Justice Department under the Clinton administration concluded merely that the ban's "impact on gun violence has been uncertain."

A new study from the Hudson Institute details how Saddam provided money, support and shelter to a league of extraordinary terrorists. Abu Nidal, the terrorist mastermind who killed hundreds including 10 Americans, lived in Baghdad from 1999 until he was murdered in 2002. Abu Abbas, the architect of the Achille Lauro hijacking that resulted in the murder of Leon Klinghoffer, was captured in Baghdad by U.S. forces.

Kerry's spending plan not doable

U.S. Senator Don Nickles and U.S. Representative Jim Nussle Hold Press Conference to Discuss Senator John Kerry’s $1.7 Trillion Spending Plan
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Don Nickles (R-OK), Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, and U.S. Representative Jim Nussle (R-IA), Chairman of the House Budget Committee, held a press conference to discuss Senator John Kerry’s $1.7 trillion spending plan.

To put this in perspective, $1.7 trillion is more than the annual economic output for all of France, and $1.7 trillion in new government spending will cost each American household an average of $15,500.

They killed a killer

By Cal Thomas

The killing of Hamas leader and practicing terrorist Sheikh Ahmed Yassin was not an "assassination," as it was described in most press reports, nor an "unlawful killing," as British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw incorrectly labeled it. Rather, it was an act of self-defense in the midst of war and as such was fully justified.

Everyone seems to be wondering why Muslim terrorists are so quick to
commit suicide.

Let's see now:

No Jesus, No Walmart, No television, No cheerleaders, No baseball,

No football, No basketball, No hockey, No golf, No tailgate parties.

No Home Depot.

No pork BBQ, No hot dogs, No burgers, No lobster, No shellfish, or
even frozen fish sticks, No gumbo, No jambalaya.

More than one wife.

Rags for clothes and towels for hats. Constant wailing from the guy
next-door because he's sick and there are no doctors. Constant
wailing from the guy in the tower.

No chocolate chip cookies.

No Christmas.

You can't shave. Your wives can't shave. You can't shower to wash
the smell of donkey cooked over burning camel dung.

The women have to wear baggy dresses and veils at all times.

Your bride is picked by someone else. She smells just like your
donkey, but your donkey has a better disposition.

Then they tell you that when you die it all gets better!

I mean, really, IS THERE A MYSTERY HERE?

Emailed from my sister

Believe now?

PARIS (AP) - A French railroad worker found an explosive device buried in the bed of a passenger line between France and Switzerland on Wednesday, the Interior Ministry said.

I wonder if the French will beleive the Muslims see them as infidels now?

Arcadia, bliss, dreamland, dreamworld, Eden, Elysian fields, Erewhon, fairyland, heaven, never-never land, paradise, perfection, promised land, seventh heaven, Shangri-La, wonderland.

We've got millions of people here in the U.S. trying to find another way to heaven. In fact spiritual men, wise men and men of learning and education have been trying to find or earn thier way to heaven for thousands of years.

You know what? They havent found one yet.

There is only one way into that place of perfection, and it is mighty narrow. One door but it is there. In fact it is disguised. Many many have heard of it, in fact most have. Many have seen it, and many have even walked up to it and peered in thought for a moment and then turned away. Many have even entered into it but for some reason were blinded to the fact that they were in the door and walked back out. But only the ones who were given to immerse themselves trusting in the maker of Heaven understand where they are.

How about you. Are you willing to enter into the gates and discover the Grace of God or will you too take only the rewards you find here on earth?

Our country is under God Anyway

These are Republicans?

From Neal Boortz

Well, here’s what Lewis and his 11 Republican cohorts have dreamed up. Just last week they introduced H.R. 3920 which they call the “Congressional Accountability for Judicial Activism Act of 2004. This legislation would allow the congress to overturn any Supreme Court decision on the constitutionality of an act of Congress by a two-thirds majority vote. Simply put, H.R. 3920 would allow the Congress of the United States to amend our Constitution by a two-third vote of both houses. No involvement from the Executive branch, and no vetting through the states and the people. Just pass a law, wait for the Supremes to declare it unconstitutional, and then amend the Constitution with your two-thirds vote.

Hey! Are these guys nuts?

Kerry still has blood of Americans on his hands from Viet Nam

From Mark Alexander

On the second count, however, our nation's resolve is at great risk of being undermined by President Bush's political opponent, Leftist agitator John Kerry, who should think twice about starting every stump-speech by questioning our presence in Afghanistan and Iraq. Doing so only serves to endanger our forces in those regions -- and the security of our homeland -- by undermining U.S. resolve.

If terrorists set any bombs off that get any Americans citizens or soldiers killed during this election period I'm gonna blame Kerry!

Abbas dead

By Paul Greenberg

The body was shipped out of Baghdad. That's where Abu Abbas, aka Abul Abbas, ne Muhammad Abbas, had been apprehended by American forces last April.

By then this man of many names had accumulated a rap sheet going back 30 years, beginning with the time he personally wiped out a family in Nahariya, Israel. (Only the mother lived to tell the tale.) Now he is said to have died of a heart attack while in custody, the first sign that he ever had a heart.

Naturally he will be given a hero's burial by the Palestine Authority. For Abu Abbas had moved steadily up in the terrorist ranks over the years, becoming chief of his own faction, the Palestinian Liberation Front. His most notorious exploit was the hijacking of the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro, during which a crippled passenger - 69-year-old Leon Klinghoffer - was shot in the head and his wheelchair-bound body dumped overboard. Nice people, the Palestine Liberation Front.

As a result, a life sentence awaited Abu Abbas in Italy, where he'd been tried in absentia. But he found sanctuary in Saddam Hussein's Iraq. (Tell us again that Saddam had no links to terrorism.) And now he's escaped justice once again.

Robert Novak

Robert Novak has an interesting point on Kerry making a mistake about what other world leaders think about him.
Now here is the exerpt.

Kerry's claim that unnamed foreign leaders told him they hoped for Bush's defeat is regarded in Democratic circles as the senator's first major blunder as prospective nominee. He cannot say who these leaders are, but the Bush-Cheney campaign has pointed to two overseas Kerry boosters that the senator did not have in mind: Kim Jong Il, North Korea's communist dictator, and Jose Luis Zapatero, Spain's socialist prime minister-elect

You Won't Believe the Newest Party Rage

What better way to have an unpleasant (and scary!) medical procedure than to have a party. That's the thinking behind colonoscopy parties. You read that right. Before you go running and screaming away from this story, consider this creative and potentially life-saving idea conceived by oncology nurse Audrey Thompson of Plano, Texas. As The Associated Press reports, Thompson invites her friends to a party at the Medical Center of Plano and then dares them to drop their pants and bare their bottoms. She even decorates the hospital screening room with blue and white streamers and a sign that reads:

"I'm proud to be a party pooper." Thompson describes herself as a health crusader. She's organized several of these parties during the past year for two reasons: to fight colon cancer and have fun. Yes, fun. "I hate to say this, but we have so much fun," she told AP. "We meet at the facility that morning, and we're all there for each other." As the, patients, are rolled to the surgery room, everyone cheers and claps. At the end, awards are given out, such as "the worst prep" and "the hardest to convince." Thompson came up with the colonoscopy party idea when she had a screening with a friend. They made a day of it, shopping and going out to dinner afterward. Which, when you think about it, is a party we could all arrange.
The sobering facts about colon cancer are not fun. It's the second leading cause of death in the United States with more than 57,000 people dying of the disease in 2001. Both men and women are equally affected, but it seems to hit blacks the hardest of any ethnic group. Regular screenings are recommended for anyone over age 50, as well as anyone between 40 and 50 with a family history of the disease. The good news is that colon cancer can be treated--and even prevented--if detected early through regular screenings. The bad news is that only one-third of eligible patients ever have one. Maybe they just need to be invited to a colonoscopy party!

Census Report: World Population Slowing

WASHINGTON (AP) - The world's population growth is slowing because women are having fewer children and more people are dying from AIDS, especially in Africa, according to a Census Bureau report released Monday.

The report forecasts there will be nearly 9.1 billion people by 2050, a nearly 50 percent increase from the 6.2 billion in 2002.

66% of Americans Are Upset By WHAT?

Fully two-thirds of Americans are unhappy with the country's moral and ethical climate, Religion News Service reports of a new Gallup Poll conducted every year to determine the mood of the nation. Honesty, I will not be able to say it enough.

I knew something was wrong because he always seemed happier than this after spending time with his friends; so I asked him about it. They had just finished playing a game of basketball and were getting on their bikes to head home. As he was unlocking his, it tipped over, scratching and denting a nearby car. The sullen look on his face indicated he had come home without telling this to anyone.

I asked him if he wanted to run errands with me, and as we were driving to the store together, I explained the choice that he would have to make and the consequences of his decision. On the way home, I asked him if he wanted to stop at the park and he sheepishly answered, “No.” "Well then, do you want some lunch?" I asked as we pulled over.

The restaurant hadn’t changed a bit since I had worked there so many years ago. I recognized the voice of my old boss, Fred, coming from the kitchen, and asked one of the waitresses if I could speak to him. He didn’t remember me at first but that soon changed; I was something of a superstar in the field of dishwashing back in the day. "I owe you some money, Fred. I ate lots of burgers in between washes and I never paid you for them." Fred looked surprised and refused to take any money, but he expressed his gratitude to me, and said it was the first time anyone had returned after so many years to pay a debt.

Walking from the store, I smiled as my son asked, “Why did you do that, Dad?” The answer was easy: "I was tired of feeling guilty every time I drove past the restaurant. It's never too late to try and fix a mistake." I paused. "Do you want to stop by the park again?"

You'll never guess what he said.

Recent comment I made at Command Post

Sadam did have connections to Al Queda. Plus he was supporting terrorism and was in pursuit of NBC weapons. We know for a fact that he used chemical weapons on his own people and he threatend use of the weapons agains us if we invaded. That was dumb on his part. Even though I and several other people were believing that He did not have a nuke or thought the likley hood that he had a nuke was low I and many like me still supported the invasion. Sadum was intent on controlling that region of the world and and had delusions that he had somekind of mandate from God to do so. Needless to say him controlling to middle east would be a catastrophe for the rest of the world. Any one who cannot do the math would have deserved the mess that it would have created out of what they say they want of this world. Apparently there are too many people
who think they are more persuasive than they really are and somehow think that they would come out on top in a world out of sorts but the fact is it becomes a crap shoot even for them. Fortunatly we won’t have to find out now will we?
I for one Laude GW for his extremely difficult decision and will continue to support him. Besides the good ol boys you are complaining about are in the Democratic party and they are the ones complaining the most. Why? Cause the Republicans won’t let them play good ol boy games. That gets the big WAAAA from me. HaHAHAHAHA

Oh but there is more.

But there is even more frightening news in the report from Sodom on the Bay. The "Same-sex marriage demographics" CHART shows a "Gender breakdown" (an obvious Freudian slip) of 57% Lesbian, 42% Gay, and "0.3% Unknown". Does this mean there were 24 people who couldn't tell what organs they had, or does it mean something even worse? Were the warnings of Senator Santorum correct? Could this be a dozen couples who were not only cross dressers, but cross species as well? Do we need to require both participants in weddings to have only two feet?

But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

Lu 23:42And he said, Jesus, remember me when thou comest in thy kingdom.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

Lu 23:43And he said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To-day shalt thou be with me in Paradise.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Our preacher brought up somthing very interesting today in sermon.

The thief on the cross whom realized that Jesus is the Mesiah made his prayer directly to Jesus (yes it was a prayer),did not get to be baptised and the man never got to give his testimony, nor was introduced as saved. He did honestly admit he deserved to die and that he indeed was evil.
Jesus rightly and immediatly accepted him and gave salvation to him without further question.

It further follows my contention that to be saved one must only call upon the name of Jesus and ask him to save them.
It also is my faith that no one can ask Jesus except that it be given by the Father to ask them.
That there is no one whom asks the Lord to be saved who will not be raised up in that day.
That a man who in our site may be backslidden but in God's site is still worthy of salvation and that many will be suprised when standing there on the day of accountability see people whom they thought unwell of are clothed and brought in through the gates of paradise.
Even many whom are given great praise and reward and the ones who castigated these same may find that the skin of their teeth is all they get in there with.

That we are not and never can be perfect enough to enter the Kingdom of Heaven except that the Father has provided a way of forgiveness through Jesus the Son of God and our only requirement is to ask for him to save us.

If there is a format for a prayer of salvation this is then given in these few verses in the book of Luke.
