By doing nothing more than eating three apples a day, several slices of whole wheat bread, or a side dish of broccoli, you will significantly cut your risk of death from heart disease, according to a pooling of the results of 10 scientific studies conducted in the United States and Europe on more than 330,000 men and women, reports Reuters. Specifically, you need 10 grams of dietary fiber a day. One apple contains 3 grams of fiber, whole wheat bread has 1.5 grams, and a stalk of broccoli has 2.7 grams. Plan your grocery shopping list accordingly.
