What do we do about kids being teased?
Omni asks this question, is there any good advice that a parent can give a child that will end school yard bullying.
Being the brunt of bullying in my child hood and having asked for some advice from my mom (believe or not) She gave me some advice that worked.
One, get strong and tough and learn how to fight.
Two, don't take any crap from the bullies.
Three, get in the first lick and make it a good one.
Four, then proceed to beat them so bad that they don't walk but run away from you.
Five, be so nice that the bullies get confused and then don't know what to do.
Six, preach the gospel of Jesus from this position of strength (that will definitely confuse them).
Seven, always deny that you want to fight them but leave them them suspecting secretly that you would like to stain the floors with their blood.
Eight, When an appropriate moment arrives do something that makes them think that you are totally whacked and unpredictable which scares the hell out of a manipulative and controlling bully.
Actually...............My moms advice was to laugh with them and I learned to make jokes about myself so the dudes wouldn't have to. But I did all the rest of those things. I was nice but ready to drop anyone in a second. Also I fought the toughest kid in the class, more than held my own and even had the second toughest guy tell me I would have won if I would have kept on fighting. I wonder if he knew he just told me I was really the toughest kid in the class. All I needed to show him was that if it was really serious I would kick his a--. I just kept being nice.
I didn't initially have those strengths or traits but I developed them with hard work and a goal of earning some quiet respect.
. It also helps that I have world class reflexes.
I gave some of this advice to my son and taught him to fight. He never lost. But was well liked by most of the class. I am proud of him. I did tell him by the age of 17 that it was time to learn to talk his way out, but by then it ended up being more like, " If you hit my sister again I am gonna shove my size 12 foot up your a-- so far you will be chewing rubber for a week". Good enough.........the young tough got the message.
Besides by then he was benching over 300 and squatting about 550.
His most recent escapade came about in some freeway rage in which the boy came to the rescue of a friend of his by taking on a guy that was a bit bigger. When he got to the reception he was "all smiles", says my daughter. I wonder who won? Well to hear my son talk about it he got the dudes shirt over his head(like in hockey)and thumped him around enough so he could get back in the car and scoot. I guess gettin bagged was enough for the guy cause he didn't give chase.
I am soooo proud.
I taught my daughter a few moves too, like how to make a fist, and to hit straight. Well a girl decided to pick one with her one night and wouldn't let up(I guess thinking she was going to get into a cat fight). Neeeeey says papa. I taught her well. When the crazy bopper grabbed my babies hair it went from cat to street. My youngest proceeded to pummel the offender of hair roots about the face and body and then returned the yankin favor by grabbing the other girls hair one hand on each side of the head for leverage and using the stringy hand holds to pull the girls head into a harsh meeting with my daughters right knee several times until the crowd pulled them apart. That's my girl. I understand no amount of makeup covered miss kitties bruised up face.
I am just overflowing with glee. I raised them right.
Be nice but be ready to waste em at a drop.
Same thing I taught my brother Al. Be so nice that the bullies are not in the right and be so ready that it isn't mad (mutually assured destruction)it is just plain mad.
I think if you ever met any of those three you would be very impressed at how nice and sweet they are, but you mess with them and they will rip you apart and feel no sorrow over it.
And I will be tickled all over.
I suppose that people would argue that in today's street smart world where it is dangerous that this is not relevent advice any more, but there are a few things that I understand about the street that they haven't thought of. That is that the street still likes nice; it tries to take advantage of nice, but it still likes nice, and the street still understands being in the right. The combination makes for respect. The strength and martial knowledge is just for the truly idiotic fools to unwise to make it in the wild and probably need to sniffle blood through a broke nose while trying to figure out how come when they talk it comes out like "mff mff nssh mfl" because their broken jaw suddenly isn't working any more.
By the way if this is a Darwinian world, that would make this survival of the fittest advice. Are you people sure you want to go down that path?

The pledge of allegiance
I have never made a direct prophecy in my web site mainly because I have never been led to do so. That is about to change.
Another federal court decision in California;which of course will opposed all the way to the Supreme Court, to ban the citing of the pledge in schools because it mentions God.
Does this nations leaders not get it yet or what? How about another natural calamity of massive and unprecedented size? Shall I put a dollar figure on it?. Would that impress it upon everyone the absolute necessity of not removing God from our everyday public lives? How about in human toll? Would one even larger and more horrific than Katrina do?
You know we are very good at rescuing people. Would we be able to rescue them this time or would we be forced to stand by the wayside and watch helplessly as people screamed for help?
I am getting ashes in my eyes. Why?

"A cruel and wasteful storm"!!??
Hundreds of thousands of people are homeless by a cruel and destructive storm. Fate.
A desperate fate in which I am encouraged by the vigor in which normal Americans have risen up to the care and aid of our fellow citizens in New Orleans. Fate.

Mickey's eulogy
For two years now we have been taking care of a little chihuahua named Mickey that we took in when he was 17.
Little Mickey used to live with an old man as his companion until the man passed away leaving Mick to his son. Because Mickey was blind and had some other medical concerns the son who was no spring chicken himself decided he could not take care of him and decided to send him to the pound. A young lady there who also worked at a dog sitter took some pitty on the old dog and brought him to Touch of Home Pet Resort. They kept him up front right along with our pet Jasmine a 110 pound German Shepard/hound mix. Well as it could be had little Mickey started following Jas around and sleeping next to her and of course my wife Karen thought it was cute. My wife brought him home where for the first year he proved to be a fun loving pesky little you know what, but he fit right in. He was a stinky, loud yappin, toe nippin, scrap eatin, Jasmine pesterin, loyal friend.
Over the last year of course as health failing, more and more we realized he didn't have much time left until finally Karen knew that we couldn't bear to watch him any more and made a visit to the vet.
Mickey was 19.
We buried Mick next to another neighbors dog in his back yard in a hand made coffin.
And with this verse I commemorate Mickeys life.
Isa 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
So long Mickey and thanks.

Sorry about the slow down in blogging as I have been busier than a one legged man in a soccer game.
I know what the original quip is but I refuse to say than a one legged man in an a-- kicking contest mainly because I have to keep the expletives at bay when I am out there with the general public. As My brother knows there was a time when a sentence of mine was definitely not complete without an obligatory 4-letter word.

Funny how some stuff just plain old backfires on people
I have to thank the poor crybabies who decided to flag my spot as a site with an objectionable material label. I get more hits from the curious passer bys of random searches then I do from people looking for specific materials. And for that comes the ever irritating to them, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ok Brown is gone now it is time for Lousiana to dump Blanco. She's killed way to many with This dumb, stupid, idiotic descision. Thanks to Samantha Burns for the link
For days now, Major Garrett of Fox News has been reporting that it was the STATE OF LOUISIANA that refused to allow food and water from the Red Cross THAT WAS READY TO BE DELIVERED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE HURRICANES PASSAGE to the throngs who congregated there to await evactuation.

Oh I'm sorry said the emperor in the final Star Wars movie
From this article at the Liberty Letters
"There is a large body of evidence that severs the evolutionary connections between humans and hominids like Neanderthals, Homo erectus, and 'Lucy'. Instead of furthering the case for human evolution, the recent insights into the chimpanzee genome actually make more sense from a creation perspective. There are astounding genetic and archeological evidences that support the biblical account of Adam and Eve now more than at any time in human history."

The Law should be written,
While a military member is away for military duty NO descision can be made concerning child custody.

Jones has introduced legislation (HB 5100) providing that absences for military service cannot be used against a parent and that a permanent custody arrangement cannot be established while a parent is on active duty. He is hearing from legislators in other states who want to sponsor similar bills.

So the politicians put off doing something about the levees in New Orleans
I was watching a special news broadcast about the Disaster in New Orleans and was disturbed by the reports that the reason that they kept turning down monies to strengthen the levees is because the artists of compromise said it would never happen. Good God! We need to go get all the politicians from D.C. and helo them into New Orleans while we are rescuing the rest of the people and then blow the rest of the dikes. See how them thousand dollar genius suiters like that. I'll bet they will be demanding to be rescued too. Only we won't.
I found a little more information to add to an article I wrote a couple of months ago. This one gives an estimate for a 500 yd meteor (meter) slamming the earth. And it get's the holy samolians from me. 60,000 megatons of energy released in seconds.
In our imagined course of events, an asteroid with a diameter between 4- and 500 meter, explode on the bottom of the northern part of the North Atlantic Ocean, between Great Britain and Canada 2,000 kilometres from Western Europe. It comes with a speed of maybee 30 kilometres per second (the average speed of asteroids are very likely rather more than 20 kilometres per second).3 with an energy of 60,000 megaton. One of the results will be a number of impactwaves with a height between 50 and 100 meter 1,000 kilometres from the impactcentre. The height of such a wave decrease inversely proportional to the distance from where it originated. If the water is not shallow, then reaching the west coast of Europe and 1,000 kilometres later, such a wave would be about 25 to 50 metres and 17 to 34 metres
From this article about Meteors whacking the earth. I also had the good fortune to find some data to sate the amateur physicist in me.From this I can now get a general rough estimate of the velocity that a star like unto a mountain may be traveling at the time of impact. That would be 40,000mp/hr or 60,000km/hr for the rest of you. I am still looking for diameters versus tonages for the various types of meteor's and impact data relating to these figures or at least some to estimate the particular event which man kind is speeding up to.Iron meteorite..........Iron 91% Nickel 8.5% Cobalt 0.6%Stony meteorite.......Oxygen 36% Iron 26% Silicon 18% Magnesium 14% Aluminum 1.5% Nickel 1.4% Calcium 1.3%Earths Crust..........Oxygen 49% Silicon 26% Aluminum 7.5% Iron 4.7% Calcium 3.4% Sodium 2.6% Potassium 2.4% Magnesium 1.9%An example of the possible riches amongst this rubble of the solar system is the asteroid Amun. The orbit of this mile-wide object comes close to the Earth's orbit and, over millions of years, it could be a threat to the Earth. Before then, however, it is likely that mankind will have visited the asteroid and mined it away to nothing, because research indicates Amun is made from that primordial stainless steel. Planetary Scientist John Lewis, from the University of Arizona, estimates that the iron, nickel and cobalt in this single asteroid is worth about $20,000 billion at market prices.source: Encyclopedia BritannicaScared yet? If not have a look at this article about the after affects of a meteor splashdown. Still not scared ? Good then if all of you micro-dick-tators wouldn't mind just moving to the pacific side of the worlds continents I would be much obliged. Go ahead I really think you could prove to me that by 2070 people who dwell in the earth have nothing to fear. HAHAHAHAHAHA!The largest aboveground H-bomb test by the United States was like a firecracker compared to an asteroid impact. That "Bravo" explosion at Bikini Atoll in 1954 was equivalent to fifteen megatons (million tons) of TNT but was only about one-thousandth of the energy of a 500-yard asteroid moving at 50,000 mph. *According to this work, a 500-yard-diameter asteroid is predicted to generate a water crater nearly 3 miles in diameterAn ocean impact by a 500-yard-diameter asteroid will vaporise about 20 cubic miles of waterThe same impact on land would pulverise an equivalent amount of rock (20 cubic miles -- about 1,000 times the volume of the asteroid) and send much of it into the upper atmosphere, where it would circulate around the globe and disrupt agriculture for many months. The planet was found to be covered with impact craters like the moon. One giant impact crater on Mercury was particularly interesting. Directly opposite the impact point, on the other side of the planet (called the "antipodal point") was a region of highly disrupted terrain with no evidence of an impact. The shock waves from the impact on one side of Mercury had traveled around the surface and met simultaneously at the antipodal point to create the chaotic features. Similar features have since been detected on several moons of the giant planets.Past impacts with water or ice are very difficult to detect, because they leave very little evidence. One such impact is known to have occurred in the South Pacific Ocean, near Chile, about 2 million years ago. This event -- known as "Eltanin" after the ship that discovered the deposits -- involved an asteroid between 1 and 3 miles in diameter that would have created a water crater at least 40 miles across. Tsunami would have swamped coasts around the Pacific and would even have reached some Atlantic coastlines. Assuming a typical run-up factor of three, the coast of Chile would have been inundated by 250-yard-high tsunami. Likely results for other locations: Hawaii 90-yard tsunami (probably higher due to the greater run-up factor); California, 60 yards; Japan and Australia, 25 yards; New Zealand; 120 yards.750 feet holy cow!
Secondary note: 9/7/05
The ozarks are a strange formation to have in an otherwise unblemished giant plain. I supposit that it is a possible anti-podal region which if it is should indicate an extremely large crater on the opposite side of the earth.

New Orleans is drowning
The city of New Orleans is drowning under a sea of water and in serious danger of being economically unfeasible to restore if the breaches in the levees are not patched. This is a mega natural catastrophe and yet pales in comparison with that which is yet to come. A date I might add approaching faster than I care to say.
The pertinent verses are found in Revelations chapter 8
Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
Rev 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
Rev 8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
The locusts are getting louder around me. When I go outside sometimes the noise of their song is nearly deafening.
I heard a rumor that we are tracking a meteor of interest. We are not really ready for it yet. And I don't know if we will be able to.
The sadness behind peoples eyes is growing more pronounced.
I am sorry people. I can not stop the inevitable and I could not get people to stop looking at me and to me long enough to look at the potential Meta disasters upcoming to properly prepare for them.
The pertinent verses are found in Revelations chapter 8
Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
Rev 8:8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
Who's next on my list to grind up
Green Tree Financial. Say good by to this rude crude coorporation-step back and watch it crumble.
Making people look Bad.
If someone goes through the effort to make someone look bad by lying about someone, deceiving someone into doing something dumb (entrapment) or sabotaging someone in any number of different ways may make that individual look bad. But these action perpetrated by you makes You Bad.

Another Link
This is a link that I have meant to put up for some time from a gentle person who is pleasant to chat with. Teflon-man.
There is an air of impending doom out there.
Gas prices are going up fast here. almost $3.00 a gallon. The rumor mill has it as high as 4 dollars.
I suppose I should tell all of you that I tried both subliminally and overtly to tell people to get into hydrogen fueled cars. So I will.
I TOLD YOU SO. Now it is late and playing catch up is a whole lot more expensive. Way to go people. You failed me. I am severely disappointed in all of you from the president on down. What does God have to do? Throw a meteor at the planet before you will believe me.
Start pumping the oil in the strategic reserves and I don't want to hear any excuses. Hell is awaiting a payment and I will not be disappointed any more, is that clear?
Get my hybrids into full production and stop crapping around with the research in fuel cells. If there is any resistance from any greedy bastards let me know I will make sure that they never darken the doorsteps of success ever again.
All stops are out. Get to work and be snappy about it. NOW!

Okay here is another article which should freak the wack-nuts
Despite Study's Claims, Expert Insists Unborn Babies Do Feel Pain-- Pediatrician Suspects JAMA Article of Promoting Pro-Abortion Agenda
By Mary RettigAugust 26, 2005
(AgapePress) - Dr. Jean Wright, M.D., a Christian pediatrician and expert on fetal development, disputes the conclusions of a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) that claims unborn babies feel no pain. She says that finding is wrong, and she suspects the authors of the study have an agenda.
After completing their research, the investigators came to the conclusion that laws requiring discussion of fetal pain before a second trimester abortion should not be passed. Wright says they drew that conclusion because they are convinced babies in the womb do not feel pain until they are at least 28 weeks old. But Wright, who serves as Vice President over Women and Children at Memorial Health Center in Savanna, Georgia, says her professional experience has repeatedly negated that notion.
"Every day that I stand in our neonatal intensive care unit and see an infant that's 25, 26, or 28 weeks gestation, I don't have to have any of these fancy studies to say [whether these infants] feel pain," she contends, "because here's the same baby that, inside, you would be measuring and referring to as a fetus, that I'm seeing outside and calling him a premie baby. And that data is overwhelming."
According to the Christian doctor, those NICU infants are unmistakably aware of pain, and yet the authors of the fetal pain study continue to deny that unborn babies at the same stages of development as these premature babies are able to sense painful stimuli. She finds it hard to understand why these scientists refuse to consider that type of tangible evidence -- unless, perhaps, they are not entirely objective.
Of course, Wright points out, the JAMA editor refuted the idea that the article was in any way politically motivated -- an assertion that compels the doctor to smile. "I can't help but grin when I see that reaction," she notes, "because the very first paragraph of this article frames this piece in response to the legislation that we would call the Unborn Pain Awareness Act." In other words," she says, the authors "start in their very first paragraph to frame their article in the context of legislation -- and that is politics."
Regardless of what that editor said, Wright is convinced the article was written for political purposes. But although she expects the report in the AMA's journal will, as one researcher said, "stir up a hornets' nest," the pro-family pediatrician says the controversy may be necessary in order to get more people to examine the evidence that unborn babies really do feel pain.
