NEW YORK (June 20) - John Rigas, who turned a $300 investment a half-century ago into cable behemoth Adelphia Communications Corp., was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday for his role in the looting and debt-hiding scandal that pummeled the company into bankruptcy.
Rigas' son Timothy, 49, who like his father was convicted last year of bank fraud, securities fraud and conspiracy, was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Sand could have sentenced both men to life.

I wanted to take a look at first the word deep (why is an excellent question) and for lack of a reason not to I have. In the process I ended up tracing God back 5 or so meanings which I found interesting as well. Never the less in the context of these first verses of the bible I have discovered that if you do not put priority on the exact sequence then they begin to appear in contradiction.

The deep is a nowhere place in which a [plural(limited in number rolled together) ]deity , pillar of strength who is chief from which I gather that God was one, but not one, but in complete agreement with himself.

Expect this to grow as I endeaver to totally disect these verses and provide you people with the insite as it occurs to me.

From this I can now get a general rough estimate of the velocity that a star like unto a mountain may be traveling at the time of impact. That would be 40,000mp/hr or 60,000km/hr for the rest of you. I am still looking for diameters versus tonages for the various types of meteor's and impact data relating to these figures or at least some to estimate the particular event which man kind is speeding up to.

The largest aboveground H-bomb test by the United States was like a firecracker compared to an asteroid impact. That "Bravo" explosion at Bikini Atoll in 1954 was equivalent to fifteen megatons (million tons) of TNT but was only about one-thousandth of the energy of a 500-yard asteroid moving at 50,000 mph. *
According to this work, a 500-yard-diameter asteroid is predicted to generate a water crater nearly 3 miles in diameter
An ocean impact by a 500-yard-diameter asteroid will vaporise about 20 cubic miles of water
The same impact on land would pulverise an equivalent amount of rock (20 cubic miles -- about 1,000 times the volume of the asteroid) and send much of it into the upper atmosphere, where it would circulate around the globe and disrupt agriculture for many months.
The planet was found to be covered with impact craters like the moon. One giant impact crater on Mercury was particularly interesting. Directly opposite the impact point, on the other side of the planet (called the "antipodal point") was a region of highly disrupted terrain with no evidence of an impact. Conundrums

Here is a hypothetical conundrum.

If I in my youth was so critical of my mothers smoking that due to unknown or unforceable curses, I was cursed to smoke and I who born of a great princess; my mother, thereby inheriting great princehood and by the curses that are laid out as a defense for me, my mother was also cursed by those same curses now laid up in her bed and growing weaker also. If I quit smoking the curses that protect me having proved stronger would cause my Mother to die.

Leaving me in a place where I have the choice of quitting and by proxy of the curses killing my mother or continuing to smoke, slowly killing myself.

Which choice should I make?

Even if the Navy ordered more of the DD(X) class -- at $2 billion to $3.5 billion each -- these small, thin-skinned vessels are highly vulnerable to "sea skimmer" missiles. And a terrorist action, like the 2000 attack on the USS Cole -- which crippled the destroyer and killed 17 -- would do similar damage to a DD(X).
Naval officers admit that heavily armored battleships are practically impervious to such strikes, but claim that what the DD(X) lacks in armor it will make up in stealth and speed. To embattled Marines that just means their nearest naval gunfire support will be far out at sea and traveling at high speed -- neither of which contribute to accurate "steel on target" for troops fighting ashore.
Our Navy currently has no capability for providing the lethal, high-volume firepower that would be required if -- God forbid -- we should have to land Marines on the coasts of Iran or North Korea, or in defense of Taiwan. When the Marines assaulted Um Qasr at the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom in March 2003, they had to rely on naval gunfire from an Australian frigate. The Navy's answer is to wait six years for the costly, unproven ERGM system and a half-dozen or fewer, yet-to-be-built DD(X) ships. But America's enemies may not wait that long. And America's taxpayers may not want to pay the price -- in blood or treasure. The DD(X)-ERGM experiments are estimated to cost between $12 billion and $16 billion.
It would take less than two years to reactivate the Iowa and Wisconsin. The battleships are 10 percent faster than the still-conceptual DD(X). They each bring to bear 12 5-inch and nine 16-inch guns -- capable, with new munitions, of firing accurately to nearly 100 miles. The two battleships can also carry nearly twice as many cruise missiles as all the DD(X) hulls combined. All that firepower is available for $2 billion -- the cost of one DD(X).

'Love Won Out' Offers Way Out for Those Entrapped by Homosexuality

(AgapePress) - A conference aimed at uncovering the truth about homosexuality takes place in Seattle later this month. Focus on Family is sponsoring its "Love Won Out" conference in the northwest metropolis on June 25.
Focus on the Family promotes the message that homosexuality is both preventable and treatable -- and maintains that such a message is "routinely silenced" these days. To overcome that obstacle, the Colorado Springs-based ministry sponsors one-day "Love Won Out" conferences at venues around the country that feature former homosexuals and other experts who tackle a wide variety of questions about the subject -- such as, Can homosexuality be prevented? Is it genetic? and What causes homosexuality?
Mike Haley is Director of the Homosexuality and Gender Department for FOTF's Public Policy Division. He says the conferences are always met with protest by homosexual activists.
"The other side hates the message that gays and lesbians can change, because it goes against the very foundation upon which their whole movement is established," Haley explains. "[They believe that] if you're born this way, then they should be allowed special and civil rights status -- and those things just aren't true."
Haley suggests that is one reason why homosexual activists dislike the message of the conferences. "[T]hey believe that what we're doing is that we're pointing the finger -- making some of the mistakes that the church has made in the past -- and we're not doing that at all," he confesses. "Indeed ... we're helping people to understand that this is a mission field that we need to reach for Christ."
Haley acknowledges that in the past, some in the body of Christ have done "very harmful" things in dealing with homosexuals. But many churches, he says, are finally dealing with the issue in a more constructive and loving way.
"Now we're coming and saying that, for those of us that were part of the gay and lesbian community, here's how better to reach us," he explains. "So what's been interesting is when gay and lesbian activists have come into the conference, one of the things they will say after the conference is, while they didn't agree with everything that was said, the tone in which it was said was very different than what they expected."
The site of the June 25 conference is Northshore Baptist Church in Seattle. Other "Love Won Out" conferences are scheduled for Birmingham, Alabama, in September, and Boston in October.

Politics

I was over at the whigs site and he has and article from( I guess )our Cousin Kyle in which Kyle makes a strong appeal for one of the basic principles of our Nation. So basic in fact that it is our national mantra which I suppose I could expound on prolifically providing plenty of links to sites showing my proof that is virtually the by word in describing our national attitude. But that is not the focus of this particular diatribe.

For a moment I thought to copy this article to my site and then dissect it inserting "the art of compromise, " where ever there was the word politic or politics. I have since thought better of it and decided to let this be only a definition, with comments.

We use the word politics in coupling with just about everything we do these days and even if we don't use the word directly we imply it. For instance in rearing our families, handing out sentences to criminals, getting along with co-workers,personal relationships including marriage which I might add today 50% of them are crap.

Compromise is a good thing in it's proper place but frankly I hate that word because I have seen Politicians practice the art of conpromise to the extreme detriment of our nation.
I am quite sure that many of you could come up with areas where compromise is not in the best interest of anyone.

To cousin Kyle sorry about this but you would have to ask Al what's up with me. He has so stated in a blog about a year ago that indeed I was a scourge. I suppose it may be so but my intent is to see that people understand that when God says all things in moderation and everything has it's place and time, it really is a matter of paying close attention to what the words really mean and not the general use of today.

We have so blurred the use of our language that it has become difficult to make a statement of fact without the fear that someone will misunderstand what is said consequently getting into some potentially crazed debate with another equally fervrent individual when you both may actually believe in the identical cause.

As far as your article and it's intent to remind us of what freedom is and to encourage us to continue to embrace it I applaud. But the word Politics cannot enter into freedom. There is no compromising freedom for to compromise it is to compromise with not freedom so you end up with only half of what you started with. To me that is half slavery. I cannot and will not live a life in half slavery. I will fight to the death over this one.

Lewis called off a custody hearing scheduled for next week unless the Werneckes could present compelling evidence that Katie was still in remission. Horne said the treatments were set for next week.
The judge said that the parents would be allowed to attend the treatments but that doctors would make the decisions.
"Early evidence indicates that given opportunity to abscond with the child, they did. And no way would I give them opportunity to do that again now," the judge said.

TV Land's 'Happy Face' On Homosexuality Masks Tragic Lifestyle

(AgapePress) - A pro-family website is warning television audiences that TV Land, a cable network that advertises a schedule of well-known, classic, family-friendly television shows, is airing a special that promotes the homosexual agenda this month. A recent e-mail alert from OneMillionDads.com notes that the show called "Inside TV Land: Tickled Pink," which celebrates homosexual undercurrents running through television history, is airing on TV Land throughout June.
TV Land is touting the "Tickled Pink" as the first program to look at how and why certain classic television shows "have hit the funny bone for generations of gay viewers." The show promises to celebrate a variety of TV shows and situation comedies that have commanded huge homosexual fan bases, and will "get the inside scoop from the talented people that created them."
Ed Vitagliano, a media researcher for the American Family Association, says although "Tickled Pink" does not promote the latest political issues of the pro-homosexual movement, the one-hour special does appear to have some disturbing objectives. One thing the show seems to do, he observes, is to hint that Hollywood has somehow "outsmarted" mainstream culture for decades by "sneaking" homosexual characters and motifs into television programs.
All this "underscores the fact that there really is an agenda in Hollywood amongst those who are homosexual," Vitagliano says. And its chief aim, he asserts, has apparently been "to kind of broach the subject [of homosexuality] to straight America in as subtle a way as possible with the hopes that they'll be more accepting of the political movement."
Upon watching "Tickled Pink," Vitagliano says it was "disturbing" to have Hollywood's homosexual agenda so solidly confirmed. "In some ways it was worse than I expected it to be," he notes, "because it really celebrated the fact that there were people in Hollywood who were trying to get a message across without the viewer really knowing it -- at least if they were straight."
In addition to focusing on actual "gay code" or subtext in some shows, Vitagliano says the TV Land special also examined how homosexuals watch many of the same shows popular with heterosexual viewers, yet interpret or experience them differently -- through a homosexual lens, so to speak. "Tickled Pink" suggests that popular shows such as "The Golden Girls," "Batman," or "Chips" that feature close same-sex friendships have often been viewed by homosexuals as affirmations of their lifestyles -- a fact the pro-family reviewer says he found sad.
"Even in TV shows that have nothing to do with homosexuality," Vitagliano notes, "apparently gays and lesbians have often latched onto any hint of a close relationship or spiritual intimacy between characters of the same sex and have read a homosexual subtext into it, desperate to find something -- anything -- that will give them a sense of normalcy." Or, in other cases, he adds, indications are that homosexuals often view shows about characters with supernatural powers and hidden abilities, such as "Bewitched" and "I Dream of Jeannie," and see characters who must keep secrets or lead hidden lives as somehow paralleling the "closeted" homosexual existence.
"I watched the show with a deep sense of sadness," Vitagliano notes. "It made me realize all the more how much Christians need to reach out to gays and lesbians, who are often extremely lonely people." Not that homosexuals are to be pitied, he adds, "any more than we are all to be pitied by God." But although many homosexuals may feel they are lacking intimacy and a sense of connection with people of their same sex, the AFA spokesman says, "What they really need is a relationship with Jesus."
While the pro-family media researcher found the revelations of "Tickled Pink" unsettling, he points out that many in the entertainment industry, including those interviewed for the show, appear to be pleased or even amused by the fact that Hollywood has managed to slip in pro-homosexual "subliminal messages" through its programming.
"The people on the show celebrated that -- they thought it was funny," Vitagliano says. Still, he insists, no matter how TV Land may try to "put a happy face" on homosexuality, that lonely lifestyle is obviously no laughing matter. According to OneMillionDads.com, "Tickled Pink" will be shown repeatedly on TV Land's schedule all this month, airing at least nine times.

Another conundrum

The state of California has a law legalizing pot for medicinal purposes. The Supreme court has just confirmed the Federal Governments right to arrest and try violators of a federal law specifically forbidding the practice.

I guess that means that the State of California will not be helping nor even legally able to assist the Federal Government in the enforcement of Federall law.

I am wondering if your wondering or if you even care about what I would do if I were the State of California.

If the Feds want to do the investigating then by laws of California the State Government may not assist in any way.

That is what I would do.

As for the question of whether Marijuana is effective as a pain reliever, I don't know but I believe the conspiracy in this matter may lie with the drug manufactures who could lose billions of dollars from an easy to acquire natural substance.

Also this particular instance is making me rethink the idea of a currently illegal substance being legalized for prescription by DR's.

I have to say I don't know at this time, but several medical studies should be done to find out.

That without health insurance, the cost of doing business for doctors would go down a LOT. Less staffing costs, less paperwork, etc. At the same time, you wouldn't see these inflated rates being charged, since the doctors don't need to play the game of getting 100% of what they need while only being paid 60% of what they charge.

Well, surprise, surprise. The free-market system works! There is a pharmacy in Lynnwood that is cash-only. No insurance at all is accepted, billed, anything. The pharmacy reports that this has decreased their staffing costs alone by 30%, and the prescription drugs there are priced competitively with the prices in Canada.

Of course, there is the predictable grumbling from the Insurance Commissioner, where, "The insurance commissioner is considering new regulations for such practices", a spokeswoman said. Of course. God forbid that anything run TOO efficiently for the government bureaucrats to make sense of it.

And of course the obligatory reference to "low-income people" not being able to afford a doctor on retainer through a cash-only basis, etc. (is someone forcing "low-income people" to do this? I must've missed that part...)

Anyway, it's nice to see that a few people are going against the flow of big insurance, and the free-market system is prevailing yet again.

The 74% rating given to the military continues to make it the institution engendering the most confidence of any of those tested -- and by a healthy margin.
Several organizations are rated highly by between 40% and 50% of Americans. These are banks, the presidency, the medical system, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Close to 4 in 10 Americans (37%) say they have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the public schools.
Roughly one in four have high confidence in television news, newspapers, the criminal justice system, organized labor, Congress, and big business.
Health maintenance organizations (HMOs) are rated highly by only 17% of Americans.

Have You Ever Noticed That women Think About This More Than Men

Concerning strange odors and maybe you muse over why I installed a giant vent fan in our private room (privy)?.

It is cause I know that my crap stinks and I am not interested in covering it up. I am interested in removing it to a place that is more suited to dealing with it than the inside of my house. I have been to those houses that keep a can of rose air freshener on the back of a commode. After a particularly unpleasant event in the biff they try to suffocate the offense with a deluge from these devices and then as chance has it you follow in behind them and of course the cloud has barely cleared up. You can smell this wonderful combination of rose and gas. Why bother smelling the roses any more? I have been permenantly scarred with this horror. Every time I smell roses there is a taint of odor that I reason is not there but I can,t get out of my head.

And how about this one, a rose flavored wedding cake, oh my.

Hears one that will ruin your desire for candy. I have had an ongoing battle with sinus infection and well for a long time couldn't see a dentist. The battle over halitosis raged on and on. Ever been in a conversation with a person with halitosis? It knocks you back a couple of feet. Problem is if you have it the only way to tell is to watch other people and if they suddenly bend away from you and a look of ewe comes over them.....You get the idea. Sometimes it gets pretty bad. So bad that it disgusts even yourself and if you get a little lazy and don't take care of it then eat something-you get halitosis flavored what you eat.....Like candy.

Just my little contribution to the health of America from personal experience. Kind of a forced cut back on your food with some wonderful thoughts. By the way; these things have really happend to me, haven't they happend to you?

I got the biggest sandbox

It all started when my wife and I decided to get a pool. Above ground soft side. I insisted that we install it in the back yard inside the fence. Now here is the interesting part I really don't have a back yard,to say it is a little steep. No flat spots. So I began by building a terrace with landscape timbers about 2 ft tall and then having 16 tons of sand hauled in. I figure I moved that 16 tons with 5000 swings of a common spade shovel in one day. The area to fill was 16 ft by 32 ft and I couldn't,t throw the sand that far so I had to move it ten ft or so at a time. Aerobics here I come la la la aaaa ouch. Blister heaven. It works out to about 50 tons of sand. Lucky it was sand-easier to handle. Man what a pump.

After that I leveled an area 16 by 16 to within 1/2 inch accuracy. Installed and set the pool( nothing like a refreshing dip whenever ya want to). Anyway after it was all done I got a chance to look over my handy work and as always there were things I wished I would have done but all in all it would hold. Still didn't feel like I had accomplished much until today this Sunday at 3PM. I jumped in. AHHHHHHH! Now I feel like I did something. Now to keep the neighborhood cats out of it. Hmm.

Oh and as for something else I have that NOOOOO one else in the world has. I have the worlds largest btrm vent fan-for a residence, especially for a 20 sq ft bathroom.. 800 CFM. I installed it just above the commode. It'll make the hair on your head stand straight up but I tell there is no problems with strange odors if ya know what I mean.
