I finally broke down and rented this movie. The reason I wouldn't before is because I felt that it was blasphemous to have a man take over the job of God and that some 'script writers' couldn't possible understand God well enough to Get him right. But for some reason or out of curiosity I got it anyway.
I was pleased to find that they did not try to sell God short and that the movie was about the absurdity of a man trying to be God and that we can not possibly understand the intricacies of operating the human race.
Bruce finally get's it near the end of the movie when God tell's him to be the miracle.
I think that is apt advice for us all. There are people out there praying for a miracle from God and we as people need to be sensative to giving. To be a vessel of God's, providing a miracle of a dollar or a can of food to a homeless man begging at the on/off ramp of the freeway ect. ect. I am sure that I could go on and on about all the little things that we can do for each other, should do for each other, but that is up to all of you to figure those things out if for no other reason than I don't want to abnormally influence anyones creative abilities-besides there is no way for me to think of all of them myself.
I personally have a heart for the homeless so it is an aching dream of mine that if I should come across a large sum of money via the lottery that the majority of my tithe and charitable donations will go twards building and maintaining a homeless shelter.
Jesus said to the rich young man to "sell all that he had and give it to the poor".
So let us all take this as some good advice and be a "miracle for someone". Maybe just maybe instead of someone getting mad at God they will believe in him and maybe another person can be saved, and maybe they will in turn help another person. Jesus say's "the poor will be with you alway's", so I don't think this ol' earth will run out of anybody to help.
Be a Miracle
